So one day I stumbled upon this tournament on DeviantART called The Digital Cup. It's a digimon tournament where you are paired with another contestant and draw comics of eachother digimon battling. It sounded like a lot of fun so I decided join. I've never been in a OCT before. Should be interesting. Here are my reference sheets for the tournament.

Killer Whale Dancer
Here is my first piece for Jenni's Character Book. One of the items on the list of character design to do was a whale. This is my take on whale design. It was designed after the killer whale dancers of the pacific northwest tribes. They are people who wear masks depicting sacred spiritual animals and traditional clothing that dance during festival ceremonies, known as a potlatch, held by the native people of canada.

Character Book
There is an artist over on DeviantART http://-jenni-.deviantart.com/ that is starting this huge project of publishing her own character design book, not filled with her designs but with tons of unknown artists willing to partake in the project. Basically the way it works is she sends you a list of 50 different subjects that you then can choose from to do character designs of and she decides what gets put into the book. I plan on participating in this event. I think it could be a good way to get some of my artwork out there for people to see. I've already started on some designs and plan on posting some stuff here on the blog. So look forward to some activity here for a change.

New Guinea
Here is another project I started but never finished. It is similar to the alaskan natives project only I chose a different culture, the tribes of New Guinea. This animal is a cuscus and they are native to New Guinea. His face is yellow and red because the tribes in New Guinea often paint their faces and that is a drum he is holding.
Enjoy folks!
